What's on my registry for baby number two

We’re so excited to welcome baby girl in January!
I’ve been in full nesting mode, but there’s less to prepare this time around. My registry is not as full because we still have all the essentials from Memphis. Technically we don’t need anything, but there are some things I wished I’d had with Memphis that I want this time around.
Here are the top priorities from my wishlist. I have more items on Amazon and Babylist if you want to see it all! We aren’t having a shower this time but having a registry is still the easiest way for us to keep it organized.
Owlet Smart Sock
I was aware of the Owlet when I was pregnant with Memphis, but I didn’t think it was necessary. It seemed like it was for paranoid parents and an unnecessary expense. Then Memphis had breathing troubles that put him in the ICU. Thank goodness my husband noticed something was off, because I’m not sure I would have. This is THE top priority for baby number two to give me some peace of mind. We need a second monitor, so we’re going to go ahead and get the Owlet bundle.
Bassinet
We used the Pack N’ Play bassinet with Memphis and it worked just fine. Then when we visited my in-laws, they let us borrow my niece’s old bassinet and I wished I had one of my own. It was so nice to have newborn Memphis right there next to me so I could quickly peek over in the night. I decided I wanted a legit bassinet this time for better spying access. :) After reading reviews I chose this one. I didn’t need a super deluxe ultra fancy one and we don’t plan on co-sleeping, so I kept those things in mind when comparing options.
Haakaa Breast Pump
This product is new to me. It’s an inexpensive pump that uses natural suction. Apparently it’s great to put on the side you’re not nursing on to collect the excess so it doesn’t go to waste! My friend said she was able to get a bottle a day just by doing so–that’s gold! Definitely worth a shot.
Hatch Baby Sound Machine
We have the Hatch Baby sound machine for Memphis and love it. It’s great as he’s gotten older too because there’s a “time to rise” feature that changes colors so they know when it’s time to get up. The kids will share a room for the first few years, but we still want another sound machine for when she’s sleeping in our room… and so that eventually she’ll have her own when she has her own room someday. We are pro-sound machine and our kids will likely have them for a long time.
Hello Bello Diapers
After hearing several friends rave about the Hello Bello diapers, I decided to try it with this baby. I did the math, and it’s actually about the same price as buying Huggies (our preferred brand with Memphis) at Costco. I know every baby is different and diapers don’t all fit the same (we tried four brands before deciding Huggies were best for us), so we’ll see how it goes. But I love that they’re eco-friendly and super cute so I want them to work for baby girl.
WubbaNub Pacifier
The WubbaNub pacifiers were our favorite because they are easy for baby to grip, and when they are too small to grip, the animal helps them stand up on their own in the crib/bassinet. Baby girl is getting a lot of hand-me-downs, but we don’t want to pass down any of Memphis’s pacifiers. I’m sure we could sanitize them, but my concern is more that Memphis will get upset and want his pacifiers back—so baby girl will have her own. Specifically the unicorn because obviously.
Of course there are other items I want, like fun girly things. We didn’t find out Memphis’s sex until he was born, so all of his newborn clothes are gender-neutral which is great. But girl things are so fun!
With baby number one, I remember feeling really overwhelmed by how much stuff we needed, and all that we needed to do. This time I’m feeling a lot less stressed, probably because I have a better idea of what we’re getting into… for better and worse. :)
