Pursue happy, America

Follow the happy. That's kind of my mantra, but I didn't realize how American that was of me until I got to thinking all patriotic-like for the holiday. 

The Declaration of Independence promises Americans the right to "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

So why are so many Americans unhappy?

Portlandia

Husband and I spent three days in Portland, Oregon. We wanted to watch the soccer match against the Timbers (SKC won!) and explore the city a bit since neither of us have spent much time in the Northwest. There were a few things on our "must do" list, like the game, but for the most part it was a go-with-the-flow trip similar to last week's trip to Lindsborg. Just my speed.

These vintage yoga photos will knock you off your mat

Yoga hasn't been popular in western culture for very long, but it isn't a new thing. In fact, the origins of yoga may date back to pre-vedic Indian traditions — the earliest accounts of yoga were recorded in 400 CE. 

In light of Throwback Thursday, I thought it would be fun to take a step back in time with some vintage photos of yoga in America ... not quite 400 CE vintage, but pretty cool nonetheless.
